It is no secret that the food and beverage industry is one of the most demanding, often resulting in physical and mental stresses that can take there toll on so many who remain silent.
On the eve of World Suicide Prevention Day, Lifeline Shanghai wanted to bring the dynamic F&B community together, along with their friends and fans, to remind them that help and support is always available.
Established in 2004, Lifeline Shanghai remains the one and only English speaking crisis/helpline service in Mainland China. We operate as a 100% volunteer based non-profit social enterprise. We provide 12 hours of helpline and online chat support everyday, delivering a responsive and empowering service for those facing life challenges, experiencing emotional difficulties or having suicidal thoughts.
Sometimes all that is needed is a listening ear.
We understand crisis can happen to anyone – regardless of economic resources, gender, age or nationality. We listen and support, offering resources and referrals to help and enable callers to take positive steps forward. One of the main goals of Lifeline Shanghai is to reduce the stigma of mental health, this stigma can cause people to feel ashamed for something that is out of their control and prevents many from seeking the help they need and speaking out.
